Navratri Festival

The 9 nights of Navratri festival begins the first day of Ashwina of the bright day. Seeds are sown, is seen sprouting, the planets have been opened and on 8 and 9 days, the goddess Durga, Vijayashtami and Mahanavami are worshipped.

The Devi Mahatmya and other texts, the goddess who terneergeslagen demons are displayed.

The day after Navratri. , 10. days after Ashwina, is Dussera which celebrates the victory of Rama over Ravana. Ravana is burned in effigy, often fighting dolls of Ravana filled with fireworks will be shot with arrows, until they inflate to a large audience applauding.

2) : 1st - 3rd day of Navratri

The first day of the Navaratras, a small bed of mud is prepared in the bidding room of the house and barley seeds are sown. On the tenth day of shoots are about 3 to 5 centimeters long. After the bid, these plants have been withdrawn and given to the devotees as a blessing from God. These first days are devoted to Maa Durga, the goddess of strength and energy. His many appearances, Kumari, Parvati and Kali are worshipped during all these days. They represent the three different women including children, girls and women mature.

3) 4th - 6th day of Navratri :

During these days, Maa Lakshmi, the goddess of peace and prosperity is worshipped. On the fifth day is known as Lalita Panchami, it is traditional to gather and show all the available literature in the house, light a lamp or diya to invoke Maa Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge and art.

4) 7th - 8th day of Navratri :

These last few days that belong to Maa Saraswati is worshipped to acquire spiritual knowledge. This in turn, free from all earthly bondage. But in the 8 th day of this colourful festival, yagna (holy fire) is implemented. Ghee (clarified butter), Kheir (rice pudding) and sesame seeds form of the holy sacrifice to the goddess Durga Maa.

5)Mahanavami :

The Navratri festival culminates in Mahanavami. On this day Kanya Puja is performed. Nine young people represent the nine forms of goddess Durga is worshipped. The feet are washed as a sign of respect for the goddess, and then offer them new clothes as a gift of worship. This ritual takes place in most parts of the country.
